Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice - Kahului

The world's most popular Hawaiian Shave Ice.

Holes in the table at Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice

Despite all of the advances in desserts over the years, Hawaiian shave ice remains the go-to dessert for anyone on the island chain.

Ululani's has carved themselves out as the leader in the art of the shaved ice, with several locations on the island of Maui.

The ordering process is simple enough; you approach the window and let them know which size, whether you want ice cream or Azuki beans, the flavors , and finally the toppings.

The flavor list is extensive with combinations, traditional flavors, and then what they call "local & exotic" flavors, which included Lycheee, Guava, and Passion Fruit.

I kept my order relatively simple as we were about to board our flight home, but there were some combinations that I would love to try given more of an opportunity.

Another fun factor is the tables in front of the order window. There are several holes in the table for you to place your shave ice as to prevent it from getting warm (from your hands), tipping over, or requiring you to eat on a normal picnic table.

Location

Just a few minutes from the airport, off of Dairy Road in Kahului. There is very limited parking, so grab the first spot that you see.
