The Bigfoot of Farmington, Utah

The elusive Sasquatch is known to roam between Francis & Bountiful Mountain.

The Bigfoot of Farmington, Utah

It's something that you would find in a SkyMall catalog for an excessive price. Yet, here it sits upon a hill in Farmington, Utah.

When researching things to do near Ogden, I stumbled upon a peculiar hike to visit this six-foot bronze statue. I probably would have embarked on the journey if it took two hours, but luckily it took less than 15 minutes.

To see this big guy, it starts simple enough by parking in the gravel lot near the Farmington Pond. After parking, you'll walk north to the Farmington Creek Trail. You'll cross a small bridge and proceed along a dirt path. The hike takes a small incline, but in less than five minutes you'll be at the big guy himself (or could it be herself?).

"Believe in Yourself Even if Nobody Else Does" #farmingtonbigfoot

Bigfoot is surrounded by private property, so please be respectful so that it doesn't get shut down for the rest of the public.

You'll notice a stone behind Bigfoot that reads "Believe in yourself even if nobody else does."

From here it's best to snap your photos and be on your way. There's a lot to explore nearby including the Farmington Canyon Waterfall and the Lagoon Amusement Park.

What a fun little mission it would be to take the kids to find Bigfoot. It's take you less than 30 minutes for even the slowest of hikers!

Know Before You Go

  • Bigfoot sits right up against private property, so please be respectful of the area.

  • Though the hike is short, it passes through some area where rattlesnakes could be present. Be aware of your surroundings.

  • Google maps doesn't tell you specifically where to park, so it's best to use the Farmington Pond parking lot.
