Veteran-owned Small Batch Craft Brewery.
Recently visiting Lagoon Amusement Park and hiking the nearby Waterfall Canyon, we went in search of some brew in Ogden, Utah.
Our first stop was Talisman Brewing, which is easy to miss while driving along W 1200 S. We stopped in mid-day and parking was plentiful. Approaching the front door, you immediately notice the patio filled with barrel-tables and a string of lights surrounding it.
Entering to the main lobby, you'll find some fun decor, including signage that reads "Lifting Beer is my Workout." To the right is a cooler full of to-go beer and loads of merchandise.
To the left is the bar and seating area. At first glance, the interior seating area seems small, but then you realize that it wraps around the brews kettles and more than doubles in size.
The brewing tasting room, owned by veterans Dusty and Joann Williams, has 13 handles serving 5% ABV beers (stronger ABV bottles for sale to-go). Beer had be had in pints, but also flights and pitchers as well. It's dog-friendly and they allow you to bring your own food.
The flagship beers include "Coming in Hop IPA," "Spindrift (Hazy IPA)," "Killer Grove (Blood Orange Honey Wheat)," "Udder Chaos (Chocolate Milk Stout)," and "Uplifted (Scottish-style Ale)." As you can see from the photos at the top, we went for more of the specialty beers in our flights. Utah was in the midst of a brutal heatwave, so we were hoping for something lighter.
We visited during a quieter time, but I would have loved to see this place hopping in the evening. Looks like a lot of residential construction nearby, so I could see this place getting crowded in a hurry. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, highly recommend if you're in the Ogden area.
Know Before You Go
