Brewery named for a 1907 Harley Davidson
Upon finding Strap Tank among a list of Utah Breweries, I honestly had no idea what "Strap Tank" meant. upon arrival, it was clear that it was related to motorcycles and upon further research, we found that it was a model of Harley Davidson motorcycle and that the brewery was just across from Legends Motorcycles.
The exterior is largely brick and you immediately notice that it is a massive facility. Upon entering in the back, you immediately notice the extensive motorcycle decor, including a replica of the 1907 Strap Tank just behind the hostess counter.
Though we were seated outside to take advantage of this warm spring day, I was sure to walk the interior and take in some of the designs. My favorite part was the holes in the ceiling where it appeared as if something had burst through.
The location feels primed to be a "Biker Bar," however only three patrons were dressed in their Harley uniforms while we were there during the lunch hour.
The beers on tap here are all of much lower alcohol content, with 5% being the max and unfortunately only allowed two tasters at a time. Some of their flagships are an ode to motorcycle culture, including Flathead Lager, Sportster IPA, & Highside American Wheat.
Beyond just the brewery, there is extensive room for dining and we particularly enjoyed their sweet potato fries.
If you heading south of Salt Lake, this or the Lehi location is a great spot to stop and have a meal and some brew!
