Giant cookies fail to live up to expectations
While planning our culinary stops on the island of Maui, we came across the giant cookies from the Maui Cookie Lady. We had also seen social posts from celebrities such as "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson and Ludacris giving the product high praise.
Upon arriving on Maui, we looked up the locations where the cookies would be available. We first stopped at the Market Maui of Wailea. They only had a few items available and the cashier couldn't offer a lot of help.
Next, we tried The Shops at Wailea. Here, they had a beautiful presentation of the product, but no sign of the flavor we were searching for: Da Half Baked.
At this point, I messaged the cookie lady herself who advised that the varietal we were searching for was not available at the locations we had stopped at (might be good information to add to your website).
Since their third location was a bit out of our way, I inquired if I could provide a credit card number for any quantity to be held for me to pick up on my way to the airport. They were also unwilling to do that.
A few days later, on my way to the airport, I stopped at their third location, their "storefront" known as Maui Pack n Ship. Again, their selection was mostly picked over and I was unable to try the famed cookie.
Upon getting home, I did order the cookies online - four of them for a whopping $50. The website that you order from, Goldbelly, offers all sorts of promo codes, but none you can actually use on these cookies.
About 16 days later, I did receive my package. The pink box was eye-catching, covered in images and catch phrases to add to the excitement.
Inside were the 4 cookies along with a card that mentions to freeze them if not eaten right away.
My team and I cut the cookies down the middle to get a glimpse of the ingredients inside. Sure enough you could see the Oreo and Peanut Butter Cup inside, but in two of the cookies, the Snickers was nowhere to be found.
Before long, we had devoured the cookies, and the consensus was that these were good, but not particularly great. They honestly had flavor and texture similar to any any artisan cookie you could purchase locally for a much cheaper price.
All in all, they don't make it easy to access their product without a tremendous price (and that may be their hook). After trying the product, we all agreed that it was not worth the hassle or the price to try these cookies.
Know Before You Go
Not all flavors are offered at all locations.
Select flavors sell out quickly, so if you are trying to access them, go early.
You need to freeze the cookie if not consuming right away.
Ordering online could take several weeks to arrive.

Location
Multiple locations sell the product, but there does not seem to be consistency to what is offered and when. You can also order on Goldbelly.
