In-N-Out Original Location & Company Store

Where the famous fast-food chain got its start.

In-N-Out replica of the original location - Baldwin Park

Back in 1948, the first In-N-Out burger was opened in Baldwin Park by Harry and Esther Synder. Since then, the chain has opened over 300 restaurants and is a favorite of many across the nation.

While this is not the actual original (demolished for the construction of the 10 freeway), this replica was created in 2014 to memorialize the company's roots. The grounds are beautifully curated and a visit takes you on a nice little trip into the chain's history.

Most visitors park in paved lot behind the replica and then take in the small hamburger stand on foot. On the grounds, you'll get to walk the stone-covered drive-thru, view of the interior of the restaurant (including the potato washer), and see many many nostalgic appliances, cigarette dispensers, and soda brands on display. For limited hours on select days, an employee will be on site, answering questions and allowing visitors to walk through the inside.

Just a stone's throw down the street, after passing under the 10 freeway is an active In-N-Out restaurant as well as the company store.

The restaurant looks like any other, but the company store allows you to purchase company branded merchandise that you wouldn't have dreamed of existing.

Visitors can make a nice little afternoon out of the two locations. A stop at the replica before lunch, then lunch at the restaurant, and finally some shopping at the company store. All three can be accomplished in under an hour, so any In-N-Out fan must add this to their bucket list.

Know Before You Go

  • The replica has very limited hours, so please check before heading out. Typically Thursday - Sunday 11 AM - 2 PM.

  • The company store can be overwhelming which all of the choices condensed in a small space, so prepared to be tempted to buy!
