Hula Grill - Lahaina

Try the chef's tasting menu & get a look into food preparation.

The "ice cream sandwich" of Hula Grill - Lahaina

After a day at Napili Bay Beach, we made our way down to Lahaina to try and find something new to try.

With its beachfront location, we were quickly drawn to the Hula Grill. As we were looking through the menu out front, we noticed something called the Chef's Tasting Menu.

We were seated in a back area of the restaurant, which gave us a clean view into the food preparation area. I could see where some could be less than enthused with this seating option, but we loved it. Observing the assembly line and getting to peer into how everything was prepared was very interesting to us.

The tasting menu gave us appetizer, entree, and desert for $27. We went with the Kama'aina Kale Salad for the appetizer, the Crab Topped Macadamia Crusted Fish for the entree and then tried each of the desserts. I went with the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Cam got the Petite Homemade Ice Cream Sandwich.

Hands down, our favorite was the ice cream sandwich as it was two large brownies with ice cream in the middle!

We really enjoyed the dinner and getting the opportunity to see the food prepared (which in turn made us want to return to try some of the items we saw)!
