Bohemian Brewery

Employs a Bohemian Brewing Process Dating Back to 900 AD

Bohemian Brewery in Midvale, Utah

I know what you're thinking... you've heard of Bohemian Beer before, but wasn't expecting its origin to be a small brewery in Utah. Throughout my travels, I've encountered National Bohemian (Natty Bo) based Baltimore, and well as Bohemia brand of beer based in Monterrey, Mexico.

This brewery got its start in 2001 and emphasize the process of "lagering" slowly in their beer-making process.

Upon entering the brewery, you're thrust into a cozy, cabin setting with towering ceilings, mounted animal heads, and antler chandeliers. We visited on a Sunday and the place was overflowing with guests, prompting a 45 minute wait just to sit down.

Upon taking our seats, we received the beer list, showing roughly 10 of their flagship beers as well as an extensive traditional menu and a brunch menu.

Many of the beers were of your traditional Bavarian styles, including Czech Pilsener and Viennese Lager. They also offer the Sir-Veza, a Mexican style lager and the Cherney Bock, a black lager with notes of coffee.

Unfortunately, we were seated in an outer patio, which didn't have the comfy lodge-feel, but it did offer some great views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

I had only been in Utah for roughly a week upon stopping in here, but thus far, the brunch offered here was by far the best food I've encountered. The menu leans heavily on Bavarian cuisine, so was far from the typical pub food.

I tired six of the beers in small tasters, of which we could have four at a time.

The beer was good, but the food was incredible. We'll certainly be stopping here again for Sunday brunch!
