Maui's most popular restaurant will be one of your most memorable meals ever!
The first time we went to Maui, Mama's Fish House came highly recommended. After that first try, we knew for any subsequent visit, the restaurant would always be at the top of our list.
The reputation of the restaurant has grown substantially over the past few years, so making reservations has become a must. Making a reservation is easily achievable via their website.
While the restaurant is located in Paia, I would not recommend trying to visit after a day on the Road to Hana as the commute back is not quick and informal resort wear is recommended.
Once you arrive, you'll leave your vehicle with the complimentary valet and check-in at a small area out front. Once they confirm your reservation, you'll pass through to a small coconut grove and beach. I haven't had the opportunity to witness this in daylight hours, but I would imagine it would be interesting to see.
You'll check in at a second area that has large calm shells as the register and they will either seat you or advise you to wait in the bar area. This spot is also where they have many celebrity photos of stars that have dined at Mama's Fish House.
The bar area is visually impressive and you'll get the opportunity to try one of their famous concoctions.
After a drink at the bar, we we seated at our table with one of their signature blue tablecloths. As we made our way to our seat, I really tried to take in all of the decor around the restaurant as it was visually stunning. Even the restrooms were tastefully decorated.
The menu changes daily, so I can't even make a recommendation on what to get, but I assure you that anything on the menu will be fantastic. On our most recent trip, our entree was the raw hamachi in a cocunut, and our entrees included Tuna and Opah fish. For dessert, we went with the photo-worthy chocolate mousse pearl with passionfruit sauce.
While you're certain to be left with a large bill at the end, the quality of the food and the service will likely leave you finding that it was very worth it!
